Is WARDOGS Coming to PS5 and Xbox? Console Release Date Confirmed
PS5 and Xbox release window confirmed for 2028 as 100-player tactical FPS hits PC Early Access
With WARDOGS now live in Steam Early Access on PC, console players are asking if and when the 100-player tactical FPS will land on PlayStation and Xbox.
Developer BULKHEAD and publisher Team17 have officially confirmed that WARDOGS is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in 2028.
Why is WARDOGS Waiting Until 2028 for Consoles?
The decision to launch on PS5 and Xbox in 2028 stems from BULKHEAD’s commitment to polishing the core game alongside PC players first. Commenting on the Early Access roadmap, BULKHEAD CEO Joe Brammer highlighted the studio’s long-term vision:
WARDOGS is ambitious, rough around the edges, and still has a long way to go, but that is exactly what Early Access should be. We’re putting the game in players’ hands, listening to what they tell us and taking the risks needed to turn it into something that can last. More than anything, we want people to get online, talk to each other, and have the kind of fun in an FPS that we grew up having. — Joe Brammer, CEO of BULKHEAD
Will WARDOGS Have Crossplay?
BULKHEAD has not yet officially confirmed crossplay details between PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. However, because all versions will share the full 1.0 gameplay feature set upon the 2028 console debut, details regarding cross-platform matchmaking and cross-progression will be announced most likely closer to the console launch.
